How to resize an image
- Upload your image.
- Type a new width or height. With the lock on, the other side follows automatically.
- Pick a format and resize, then download.
Resizing without distortion
Keep Lock aspect ratio on so circles stay round and faces don't squash. Shrinking an image always looks sharp; scaling it up beyond its original pixels can only estimate the missing detail, so start from the largest version you have when you need a bigger result.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep the aspect ratio?
Yes, by default. With the lock on, changing the width updates the height automatically (and vice-versa) so the image isn't stretched. Turn the lock off to set width and height independently.
Can it make an image larger?
It can, but enlarging past the original size interpolates new pixels, so the result looks softer. Resizing down to a smaller size always stays crisp.
Which output format should I use?
Keep PNG for transparency or flat graphics, choose JPG for photos, or WebP for the smallest photo files. For JPG and WebP you can also dial the quality.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The resize happens entirely in your browser with the canvas API. Nothing you open leaves your device.
