About ToolNest

Hi — I'm Dvir, the developer behind ToolNest. By day I'm a software development team lead at a US company, and I've spent the last 17 years working in the IT industry, from hands-on engineering to leading teams. ToolNest is where I build the small, fast utilities I always wished were a single click away — and keep my own craft sharp by owning a project end to end.

Why I built it

Over 17 years I've lost count of how many times a five-second task — generating a QR code, formatting some JSON, counting words, converting units — sent me to a site buried in pop-ups, sign-up walls and trackers. ToolNest is my answer. Every tool does one job, loads instantly, and asks nothing of you: no account, no download, no nagging. It's a living project I maintain and expand based on what people actually reach for.

Privacy first — by design, not by promise

Every tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Whatever you type or upload stays on your device it is never sent to a server, logged, or shared. That isn't a policy bolted on after the fact; it's an architectural choice. For these tools there's simply no backend touching your data, because there doesn't need to be one. You can confirm it yourself: open your browser's network tab and watch — nothing leaves the page.

Built with care

Each tool is written and tested individually rather than wrapped around a generic widget. Conversions use exact factors, calculators show their formulas and worked examples, and the whole site is built to be fast, accessible and accurate. When I find a bug or a better way to do something, I fix it — this is the kind of project I'd want to use myself.

How it stays free

ToolNest is free and will stay free. The site shows ads to cover hosting and domain costs — that's the entire business model. The tools themselves will always be free, account-free, and privacy-respecting.
