Cropping for a purpose
Use 1:1 for profile pictures and product thumbnails, 16:9 for video covers and slides, and 9:16 for stories and reels. Free crop is best when you just want to remove distractions or straighten a composition. The crop keeps full resolution, so the result is as sharp as the original.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop the image?
Drag the crop box to move it and pull any handle to resize it. The selected pixel dimensions update live. When you're happy, click Crop and download the result.
Can I lock the crop to a shape?
Yes. Pick an aspect ratio — 1:1 for a square, 16:9 or 4:3 for video and photos, 3:2, or Free to crop to any shape. With a ratio set, the box keeps that proportion as you resize.
Does cropping lose quality?
No. Cropping keeps the original pixels inside the box at full resolution; it only removes the area outside. For JPG and WebP you can still choose a quality for the saved file.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The crop is rendered locally with the canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
